WELCOME TO MY PROFILE WEBSITE
“Know thyself.” - Socrates
My name is Lito Libres.
I am a Mental Health Counselor with over a decade of experience. I graduated from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology at Sofia University in Palo Alto, California with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and an emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy and Clinical Transpersonal Psychology. I also earned two Master’s level certificates in Expressive Arts and Transpersonal Studies.
I have been living and working in remote Inuit communities in Canada for almost a decade. Throughout those years, I have learned to work on complex Intergenerational trauma, post-Traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief, anxiety, depression, suicide prevention, and interactional and relational dynamic issues.
My approaches have been influenced by psychodynamic psychotherapy, brief solution-focused therapy, mindfulness, marriage and family therapy, and recently I have been taking advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.

My Own Journey
I have a great interest in the ancient wisdom of early Christian and stoic philosophical teachings which, in my opinion, modern psychotherapy stems from. The ancient wisdom teachings have taught me to know myself, and to do my own work, both personal and professional, as I help others. Because of these teachings, I have been seeing a Jungian analyst since I started working in this field, and I also attend conferences and related trainings in Europe and the United States.
As a child, I displayed a mild and gentle demeanor, with empathy and care for others. My thirst for a contemplative way of life has led me to visit Christian Holy places and stay in monasteries in Spain, Italy, Greece, the Middle East and the United States during my pilgrimages.
These values have influenced how I walk with my clients in their journey as pilgrims seeking to heal their souls.
